Information and Assistance staff will help you find information to assist you in caring for an elderly loved one or resources to help you and/or family deal with the stress that often accompanies care-giving. Whether the services/resources are available at Spokane Mental Health or in the community, the information you need is just a phone call away.

Information and Assistance provides callers with information about: support groups, nutrition programs, activities for elders, transportation to medical appointments, and in-home assistance. Since 1978, Elder Services has been the number to call to get information regarding the needs of Spokane County's elders. In addition, Information and Assistance staff members provide callers with current information regarding long term care resources, including residential facilities, etc.

ELDER SERVICES...

  • Provides clinical case management services designed to help older persons remain in their homes.

  • Serves as the principal community agency that assumes ongoing responsibility for assisting at-risk community dwelling elders.

  • Provides special volunteer escort transportation to essential medical services for impaired elders.

  • Provides services designed to assist caregivers, including respite.
