Evergreen Club

The Evergreen Clubhouse provides both rehabilitation and vocational services for members with a severe psychiatric disability and is certified by the International Center for Club House Development (ICCD) and by the State of Washington. The Evergreen Club is built upon the evidence-based ICCD Clubhouse model which utilizes work as a central component to the rehabilitation process. Clubhouse members first participate in an assessment to determine employment history and interests and then choose one of three discrete work units in which to work. These units consist of the café, thrift store, and the business unit. The members are able to develop meal preparation skills, organizational and budgeting skills, retail and clerical skills, and participate in and learn various aspects of administrative tasks.

Rehabilitation specialists are employed at the clubhouse to assist members in setting and meeting their educational and vocational goals. Most members at the Evergreen Club have Mental Health Care Providers (MHCP) at Spokane Mental Health or with other SCRSN agencies and collaborate with Rehabilitation Specialists at the Evergreen Club on an on-going basis to ensure coordination and communication of service needs.

One of the most important aspects of the clubhouse model is personal empowerment, and all members may participate in the governance and decision making processes of the clubhouse. Regular clubhouse meetings are held to determine clubhouse rules, fundraising, and direction for activities and other ongoing aspects of clubhouse operation. Education is available for those members who are interested in independent or   transitional employment which consists of assistance in learning how to write resumes, fill-out applications, and interview for and locate jobs.

The Evergreen Club is open to its members Monday through Friday from 8:30 - 4:30. In addition, it is open on Wednesday evenings and Saturdays for drop-in activities, socialization and special events in the community. The clubhouse is also open four holidays per year.
