Transitional Employment is one of the major
components of the Evergreen Club and helps members get real jobs in the community at competitive wages.
It makes it possible for individuals who have no work history or previous work
failures to access job placement. For these members, the Rehabilitation
Specialist provides on site job coaching and training, and if needed, will
provide work coverage during the member's absence. Transitional Employment
Placements (TEP) last between six and nine months are designed to be part-time,
entry-level positions. In addition to helping members find and keep
employment, the Club House helps with benefit management and provides on-going
support to those who find independent work. As members' needs, skills,
and desires change, the Employment Specialist helps the members revise their job
goals and plans. The Employment Specialist also provides coordination with
other employment services and advice on reasonable accommodation in keeping with
the ADA.
